X (Twitter) Rival platform Meta is bringing a new “hashtag” option to threads. It works similar to the popular tags feature of social media. This feature allows customers to categorize their posts. This makes posts easier to find. 

Instagram boss Adam Mosseri said that from now on, any topic can be tagged in a post. Mosseri confirmed that the feature will be gradually rolled out to all customers globally. 

The "#" symbol will not appear in thread labels. Customers can use multiple words as tags. Hashtags usually contain words with no spaces between them. However, there is no problem with the tag functionality even if there are spaces between words.

Only one tag can be used per post. This tag can be used via the # button in the thread or the # key on the keyboard. Using this tag will display a list of existing topics.

Customers can select tags from this list or create new tags themselves. Tag words can also contain spaces and special characters within the tag. Although the # symbol does not appear with the tag, it appears blue as a link in the post.

If you click on a day, you can also see other posts about that day. A product designer at Instagram said emojis could also be used in hashtags.
